Vancouver’s Cinematheque to screen Iran’s ‘Lantouri’

Vancouver’s Cinematheque is to screen Iranian feature ‘Lantouri’ by Reza Dormishian.

Vancouver’s Cinematheque has set to screen Iranian feature film ‘Lantouri’ directed by Reza Dormishian in Canada.

The movie will go on the Canadian silver screen on November 12 and 13.

‘Lantouri’ narrates the story of a young man who falls in love with a young woman and a thwarted passion that causes trouble for the girl.

Navid Mohammadzadeh, Maryam Palizban, Baran Kosari, Mehdi Koushki, Behrang Alavi and Bahram Afshari starred in ‘Lantouri’.

The movie has so far taken part at a number of international film events, including the 28th UCLA Celebration of Iranian Cinema and the Cleveland International Film Festival, both in the US, as well as the 9th edition of Sofia Menar Filmfest in Bulgaria.

It has received some awards from various international film festivals, including the award for the most inspiring director of the year at the 'Inspired" section of the 16th Istanbul Independent Film Festival in Turkey.

Vancouver Cinematheque will also screen the Iranian feature film ‘Nahid’ directed by Ida Panahandeh next month.

The Cinematheque has been set to hold a monthly program titled ‘Contemporary Iranian Cinema’ which is dedicated to screen an acclaimed Iranian film every month.
